Born in Flagstaff, AZ, Paul originally went to school for computer programming. He quickly learned that the creative mind languishes when sequestered in a cubicle eight hours a day. He soon went on to a new career as a stylist. He found himself in Lake Tahoe for a summer and, on a whim with a friend, Paul wandered off to Wisconsin. He loved it so much, he made it his home and spent the next 25 years styling the Fox Valley.
Instinctively peripatetic, Paul is inspired by nature, and can often get lost in photo jaunts togging wildlife, landscapes, plants, and insects. His favorites are things that fly! While Paul has always been a ‘togger’ and graphite artist, it is relatively recently that the worlds of colored pencils and watercolors have given him new freedom of expression.
Paul is a full-time traveler, roving extensively throughout North America & Mexico, and loves traversing the ocean via cruise liners. So many cruise ships! There’s little photo fodder for a flora and fauna photographer afloat, but an artist with the tools of his trade can create anywhere! You’ll notice that many of his subjects are not local and are inspirations from his travels here and abroad. He hopes to inspire others to travel, explore their world, and discover the many gems this all too short life has to offer.
When not traveling, painting, drawing, or togging, Paul resides, not-so-quietly, in Appleton with his incredibly understanding partner, observing the amazing inspirations that surround each of us every day.
